What a WEEK!!!

I truly love what I do for a living!!  It gives me great opportunity and let's me really do some of the things that I excel at.  We have a Supply division meeting this week which I had the opportunity to help stage and run and it was a great time!!!  It's great to meet all the people and see them and hear them talk about the company and the jobs they hold... below is Joe Templet one of our sales leaders.

Sunday I leave home again for a week to attend the Lagasse division meeting. VERY excited since it is in New Orleans.   I'm looking foward to the opportunity to help with the meeting and learn more.  As much as I love my job I love these meetings and handling the logisitics and production process of these meetings.   Someday I may change my calling to be more involved in this type of event.

So that being said I am very thankful for the support that Jeff and the kids give me...it's certainly gotten better as the kids have gotten older.  It's tough being away, they of course seem to enjoy when I'm not home..no one telling them what to do or when to do it. !!  They seem to have missed me...but they got over that real quick.

My head feels better and back on track....getting up and feeling good.  Amber is doing really well.  She is really putting effort in to doing well and getting better and being more responsible.  RJ is good, still need to finda social outlet for him...just don't know what yet we are still working on it.  I do think I'd like to join the YMCA but money is tight and I'm thinking it's just not in the budget at this point.

It's windy and cold today...but I really want a glass of wine....so I'm going to the liquor store to get a nice red wine.  I DESERVE IT!!

Day 22

Agh day 22 of 2012....went to physical therapy yesterday morning and the 12 year old physical therapist made my shoulder very angry.  Yes the shoulder hurts due to lack of movement which has caused scar tissue...Audible Capsulitis is what they call it.  Ugh that hurt.  3 more weeks and I should know what surgery I will be having.  Should be interesting.

Snow again last week covered my car Friday and made a long trip home...I am not against snow, I don't think it's the snow or cold that bother me.  I like to sled and ski...so snow is not my enemy.  It's the idiots that don't know how to drive in it, the ones that go too fast and end up getting in an accident and then clogging the roads...or the ones that go too slow that end up leaving a wake of accidents.  Driving in it is an art where you have to drive to your REAL ability and do drive just right to avoid ending up in a ditch or with someone else's car on top of yours.  I even enjoyed shoveling the snow when I got home Friday...it was the light fluffy kind so it wasn't difficult and it was cold but not windy...so yes I guess when all the stars align and it's perfect out and I'm at home to enjoy it snow is great.

I haven't had a glass of wine in over a week and for anyone that knows me that is a HUGE deal.  I LOVE wine...I love to chill out and enjoy a good glass of wine and depending on the mood even a bad glass of wine will do.  Last glass of wine I had was 2 Wednesday's ago when we went to dinner with friends...hmm now I'm really craving a glass of wine...CRAP!!

Went to Woodmans today to get groceries.  $300 later....ugh. Of course in my defense I only shop there 1 a month and I get all the staples there.  So it's not as bad as it seems.

We have been looking at our trip to Missouri this summer to see the baby....yes the one that isn't baked yet.  Sparticus should arrive in June....I still have to talk to Kellen about when she wants us to come but I figure we'll make a trip out of it.

Amber is doing good...she's finally growing up and I'm pretty proud of her right now....holding on to her job doing her best with it.  Doing things around the house to help out...it's been nice having her back again...better than I thought it would be.  I admit, I am still skittish but it's getting better.   Ondrea cut her hair and it looks fabulous...she looks like a 20 year old woman!!!  Very beautiful...of course the picture here, not so much, I'll have to get one where she doesn't look so pale and you can see the color of the hair better.

RJ just got his report card...honor roll again...of course he was disapointed that it wasn't all A's he was hoping for more.  He is trying to get to the point where he can go to regular school, that is his goal this year.  He has to show that he can keep his emotions in check and compromise.  So far he is doing fabulously.  We have to find some social situations to put him in, i think we may join the YMCA or something just not sure yet.

I have to blog more often...these get too long when I only do it once a month.

Chicken Pot Pie and Spinal Injuries....

So...here I sit waiting for my chicken pot pie to get done...yum can't wait to eat it... So, the exercise everyday, it's okay, I have done 20 minutes most days, some days more, some days less but most right at 20. I am definately used to it, I haven't really lost any weight though!! Of course that is because my eating is terrible, that will be my goal next month, but what is the goal exactly?? Is it a calories limit? Is it something as simple as no longer eating out unless it is for fun...like with friends? Is it no Carbs or certain Carbs. Big decision to be made....

This morning I went to the Orthopedic Dr. for my shoulder as it seems to be getting way worse....I have now developed Adhesive Capsulitis, basically because I have been limiting the use of my arm due to the bulging disc pushing on my spinal cord that is causing pain in my right arm to begin with. I am more than a little frustrated at this point. Still waiting for the insurance company approve the surgery I want to replace the disc with a fake one. Here is a picture of what I want them to put in ...
This is a way better option for me, I do not want to have my spine fused...this causes the discs above and below the fusion to stress and then later you'll have to have those fused...it's nuts... But I am just being crabby over it at this point.....rightfully so as far as I'm concerned.    But moving on....

Quickies from the road!!

It's fun to be able to blog on the go!!!! I am just taking it for a spin see what it can do.

I have found another fun Internet thing, Pinterest! Awesome little app where I can snap pictures of interesting things! A way to keep track of all the stuff.

Ogglie Mooglie

So I have been washing my face and trying to take better care of my skin for months...nothing seems to work.  40+ acne sucks!!!  I can't seem to get the right combination.  Sigh..so frustrating.

Trying to figure out...where to put onions and potato's..where to store them.....used to have them in baskets hanging up but that broke after YEARS of being my go to spot..so now what?
Dinner tonight is a beef stew in the crock pot.  But instead of potatos I am putting over brown rice.
Cooking and cleaning today...I enjoy the cooking but the cleaning not so much.

We are also back to looking for things that we can do as a family to get in shape.  RJ and Jeff love their video games...add me liking to cook and we are not the fittest family around for sure.  I'm wondering if I just start to do something if they would follow...Kayaking is always fun so I think that will be easy to get them to do...but we need to be in better shape come the start of the season (which with the way the weather has been..really hasn't ended). I think the Wii is probably the way to start out...that integrates something they like, the video games, with something I am trying to get them to do...MOVE more.  Right now I think that is probably enough...wish me luck, we are supposed to play resort sports later today.

We are also starting to plan our vacation to Missouri once the baby comes.  We will go hang with Kellen, Jason and Spaticus but we are also going to add on to the trip some other stops.  We shall see what we end up with.  Maybe we go out to the Ozarks...that would be fun.  Then we could stop and see them on the way there and back!!!!

I am also starting an herb garden in the window ... I want to have fresh herbs other than just in the summer when they are growing out back.   We'll see where this gets me....

Something is off..

Just can't seem to get out of it on my own.
So since before the holidays, somewhere before Halloween, I slowly and quietly started to stop wanting to do anything.  I'd rather lay around and watch TV than go and do anything. Now I will admit, I am not one to go 24/7 but I've never had so much trouble getting out of bed.  I have had to really push myself to do all the holiday stuff and be engaged with everyone.  I am not sleeping, I literally can't.  I've tried it all and some heavy duty stuff, hydrocodone - makes me more wide awake, tramadol - more wide awake.   I can't tell if it's because my arm hurts (from the pressure on my spinal cord from a slipped disc) all the time or if I am just in a funk that I can't seem to get myself out of .  So ... I guess it's time for me to tell my physician right?  I'm not being a baby if I tell her that I need some help am I?   I really don't like being this way and I can feel the mood in the house is out of wack too because of it....I think seeing the Dr. is the right thing to do a little thereapy won't hurt me either.  It's hard to say the word "depression" mainly because I feel like it's an excuse or a cop out that everyone uses.  This feels a little to real though and I really don't want it to get any worse.   Yup I think that telling the Dr. is the best thing to do..... so that aside.....

It's been a busy start to the year.  I've gotten up and done my 20 minutes...okay so it's not always 20 minutes, sometimes I get up and get downstairs ... only to sit in the chair with my coffee and watch the news.  BUT 3 out of the last 5 I have done it.  Good start...weight is status quo. I've taken my meals to work which seems to work out well since I don't leave my desk for lunch usually and used to be forced to eat what I could find which was usually crap.  This way I eat a healthy breakfast and lunch as well as a few snacks.  I've been doing pretty good at dinner but not great.  But I am on my way...and it should feel better than it does...I have a long road, one day at a time and one step at a time, but I of course need instant gratification.

It's over....

Not only is 2011 over, but so is my time off.  It's back to the grind tomorrow.
Sadly, today is the last day of fuzzy slippers and yoga pants...I'm kind of afraid that my regular pants won't fit!!!  Tomorrow morning will be the first morning that I actually have to work out at 5:30 AM.  Wish me luck, it won't be easy, it's been well over a week since I've had to go IN to work at a decent time.  I've been working from home....in my Yoga pants and fuzzy slippers!!!

Ugh and I just remembered that tomorrow I have to start looking for a different way to and from work.  The tolls are going up and will cost me double what it has been costing me to drive into work.  YUCK!!

hmm back to reality....I'll just keep telling myself that it'll be nice to get back into a routine.  Back to some order!!  Ya I'll just keep telling myself that.
